Laura Nike
I have been a teacher for 20 years in the state and independent sectors, with over 10 years in school leadership, and the past 8 as a headteacher. As a mother and an educator, I understand the challenges of preparing children for the transition from primary to secondary school and the importance of ensuring children are well-equipped for their next educational steps. I also recognise the significance of building strong educational foundations and reinforcing them year after year to avoid unnecessary stress before the 11+ process.
Knowing that parents want the best for their children, I not only strive for academic excellence but also emphasise the development of good character and the opportunity to nurture your child’s skills and talents. This is what led to the creation of Above and Beyond Education, a personalised, small-class tuition service where children receive exceptional teaching and care in an environment that fosters both academic and personal growth. Beyond traditional academic lessons, we also incorporate mentoring and coaching to help children build resilience, self-confidence, and a growth mindset. Our Forest School program offers a unique opportunity for children to connect with nature, develop practical life skills, and gain a deeper sense of responsibility and independence.
Additionally, our educational holiday camps are designed to give children a boost in both their academic progress and personal development, providing a fun and enriching experience that prepares them for future challenges.
For children with additional needs, our SEN clubs are specifically designed to provide tailored support in a nurturing environment, helping children build confidence, develop social skills, and thrive academically at their own pace. Carefully crafted lessons, tailored to each child’s individual needs, are essential for their growth and success.
When lessons are customised to their unique strengths and challenges, children not only excel but also discover the joy of learning, gaining skills and enthusiasm along the way. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness this transformation and to be a part of their educational journey, helping them become not only successful students but well-rounded, grounded individuals.
